Walk Under the New Gap Road Bridge

From President Jamieson

The rain held out, in the most part, for a great day on Sunday working the Joe Scordia memorial BBQ, in the Harris Scarf carpark, for the Sunbury Gap Road community day. Looking at the weather forecast, I wondered if we might have over catered with 1000 sausages, but when almost half of them were gone by 11:30 and the queue was 50 to 60 deep, we sent out for another 200.
All up we cooked and gave away 1200 sausages and 500 cans of soft drink and there was even the odd vegetarian wrap or muffin thrown in!
Thank you to Kerry, David, Fred, Terry, Hans, Mani, Robert, Janelle, Eva, Jess, Linden and Arthur. So many Rotarian uniforms and weren’t we the star attraction (next to the Bridge of course!).
RNA Julie Worrell, event manager’s, quote of the day. `I love Rotary, they are my new favourite go to organisation. Nothing was a trouble for you, and you just came in and got the job done!`
